Can’t upgrade app from App Store

There is error “To update this application, sign into the account you used to purchase it.” keeps showing up when I would want to upgrade my app from Apple’s app store.

At first you might thought you had entered the wrong account, just like what the error shown. But actually this was a common bug that faced by many Mac OS X users. So the resolution for this at the moment is just delete your app and reinstalling it again. To avoid deleting issue, when using some Mac app cleaning tools, you need to make sure you only remove the app within the Application folder and not all the settings files stored in other users folders.

Besides, you also need to ensure you don’t have any links to that app on your dock, because that would refrain you from getting installing properly.

I found that it doesn’t work by just removing the app from the Launchpad. That’s another weird issue.

How to resolve the BeachBall aka Spinning Wheel of Death on Mac?

Last time I mentioned the methods I used to resolve my Mac freeze issue. And I found the method to run the Force Quit by this shortcut key: Cmd + Option + Esc. However, if the root of cause is the background task then you might not able to resolve it.

So better you set another shortcut key for Activity Monitor to open, like that you are able to quit those hidden task.

PS: Here also needing useful method to interrupt the BeachBall.

Why my Mac OS X Lion can’t go into Sleep mode

For quite a time after upgrade my OS to the latest developers preview GM Mac OS X Lion, I notice whenever I’m trying to put my macbook to sleep. Not always I’m successful to do so.

Most of the time, the screen just dimmed down but it is still running in the background. So after some investigation, I found that this problem was caused by the “Internet Sharing” function has been turned on!

So just go to Preference > Sharing and untick the Internet Sharing. You should able make your laptop back to sleep again.
